Remedios Varo
Descubrí la obra de Remedios Varo en un artículo del Magazín Dominical del periódico El Universal de Cartagena hace ya varios años, y de inmediato quedé enganchado con la poética de sus imágenes, las cuales abogan por amalgamar puntos al parecer tan distantes como el pensamiento lógico y el mítico; en las pinturas de Remedios Varo el mito vuelve a asumir su función de recreador de la realidad, de la explicación pausible que otorga sentido al mundo alrededor, sin hacer separaciones dogmáticas entre ciencia y fantasía, antes bien otorgando a la primera un cierto aroma nostálgico de alquimia (Creación de la aves, Descubrimiento de un geólogo mutante), y a la segunda un nuevo aire poético distante, me parece, de las grandielocuencias de otros pintores surrealistas, Dalí más exactamenteEncuentro entre los puntos de referencia de sus obras la mujer y la naturaleza como fuentes germinativas de vida, con exaltación de lo vegetal (El gato Helecho); el viaje (Exploración de las fuentes del río Orinoco, Locomoción capilar) y la vuelta a la consolidación de la figura humana como centro de experiencia poética, en lugar de campo de batalla de pulsiones sicoanalíticas...
